Facebook Declares War on Verona Red

Ok so Facebook is apparently run by a bunch of fish hating assholes. As you all have heard by now Verona Red is unleashing our new bassist on the world at Beat Kitchen in Chicago on 11/6.  Right, you know this already…what you might not know if you are an avid Assbook user is that we had an awesome flier for this show, that Shitbook won’t let us publish as an ad. Here was the message received from Nutsbook after submitting our ad.

“The image of this ad is either irrelevant or inappropriate. Per sections 4 and 5 of Facebook's Advertising Guidelines, the image on your ad should be relevant and appropriate to the item being advertised. Images that are overly explicit, provocative, or that reveal too much skin are not allowed. Images that may either degrade or idealize any health condition or body type are also not allowed. If you choose to submit this ad again, please use an appropriate image that adheres to all of Facebook's Advertising Guidelines.”

First, "The image of this ad is either irrelevant or inappropriate."

Inappropriate?  The flier depicts a bass swimming to freedom. What’s inappropriate about that? Does Facebook not believe in catch and release? Do they hate animals this much?

Next, "Images that are overly explicit, provocative, or that reveal too much skin are not allowed. Images that may either degrade or idealize any health condition or body type are also not allowed."

Again the flier is centered on a fish, one of nature’s most handsome creatures. To revel in its beauty is to truly be in touch with the source of all life (all life came from the sea let me remind you.)  And finally fish don’t have skin they have scales butt faces.

Anyway, because I can’t stand for such hate mongering and censorship here in America, I’ve decided to publish the ad here. Enjoy!
