Ok so I’m really late with show posts. To get you up to speed, we left off on a cold and blistery night in early January at the Melody Inn in Indianapolis. I think we got hit by some skank asleep at the wheel the last time we went there so not getting in an accident with a sleeping person was a definite improvement. Good times.
The show was fun. We rocked out with some great bands, re-united with some distant family, and drank with a Tuskan Raider. Good times were sploodging all over the place, we even jammed on harmonicas with one of our good friends and fans Kris Murphy (dinosaur puke dude, from several blogs back).
Since I didn't get any pictures, I'll leave you with a tribute to Canada to show my gratitude to this beautiful country for letting the world Olympicize all over it.

Cleveland Steamer Stuff and Another FREE Show this Weekend
So we’re stopping in Cleveland to perform a FREE SHOW this Saturday at Wilbert’s (812 Huron Road East, Cleveland, OH 44115). But Chris…don’t you have a FREE show the night before in Royal Oak, MI? Yes we do. The truth is we LOVE YOU and we know times are tough, and while we might be living off the riches of an independent rock and roll band many of you simply aren’t as fortunate.
Anyway, I wanted to usher in this special first trip to Cleveland occasion with a video post featuring my 8th favorite sexual position and 5th favorite dish…the Cleveland Steamer. To my dismay I was amazed at how many videos on YouTube use this phrase falsely in an attempt to get you to click on videos that have nothing to do with this most sacred of topics. If I were president you’d be killed for such blasphemy. But until then I guess I’ve learned there’s a lot of sick/gullible people like me out there… which is comforting…kind of.
Anyway, this one isn’t nearly as sexual as the title suggests, but it’s deep and thought provoking nonetheless.

Sexual Favors For Sandwiches = Here We Come Royal Oak, MI!
As the legendary NCAA college basketball coach Bobby Knight once said, "It's not the will to succeed that matters, but the will to prepare to succeed." For this reason I like to study the musical landscape of a city before a show to help us design a set that will connect best with local culture.
As we gear up for our next performance in Royal Oak, MI (just outside of Detroit) on Feb. 19, I am reminded that the Motor City was the birthplace of Motown and that I would be faced with a plethora of music/videos to sift through in order to get a well-rounded picture of what's been going on in Detroit over the last 60 years.
During my research, I stumbled across one video that struck me as having a very special signficance in recent Motor City musical history. I'd like to share that video with you today.
The time: August 13, 2009.
The place: a small restuarant in Coney Island outside of downtown Detroit.
The artist: Unknown, but we can assume he's operating under the inspiration of D-town's finest crack cocaine.
Enjoy!
It's hard to believe how much better Michael Jackson is than this guy, when I can probably gaurantee MJ had a multitude of stornger drugs flowing through his system....then again MJ had the evolutionary advantage of growing up in Gary, IN. Nevertheless...some of the lyrical reinvention featured above is admirable.
